Partners

What’s a Partner?
Workforce Tulsa “partners” with many organizations involved within the disciplines of Workforce, Community and Economic Development to forward our mission of developing a workforce that is competitive nationally and globally. While the Workforce Investment Act demarcates sixteen federally-funded “partners”, We at Workforce Tulsa understand that more and deeper partnerships are needed for forward our mission. As such, a partner can be any organization, private, public or non-profit, philanthropic or individual that can add value to our organization by helping for forward our mission.
How a partner adds value:
Creating synergies between the disciplines Economic, Workforce and Community Development is no easy task! To create the synergies necessary to spur economic growth, the traditional, hierarchical and singular programmatic silos developed to manage these disciplines must be changed. It requires a new kind of management structure – a management structure that mirrors the interconnected realities of the New Creative Economy. Workforce Tulsa has such a structure. Workforce Tulsa has a board comprised of 41 members that is business led, business driven and incorporates 16 public and nonprofit sectors that brings together the disciplines of workforce, economic and community development under a singular organizational structure. As such, Workforce Tulsa’s structure is aligned with the New Economy realities. Our structure is unique and is the only governing body that brings together these diverse groups, thereby creating a “systems approach” to solving workforce issues.
How do I become a partner?
Spurring economic growth in this new, Creative Economy requires community leaders to create a synergistic relationship between the disciplines of Economic Development, Workforce Development and Community Development. Community leaders need to bring a whole new host of development tools to the table when working on retaining or attracting businesses. Therefore, leaders seeking to spur economic growth must work to leverage and cultivate the synergistic relationships between the disciplines of Economic, Workforce and Community Development in order retain existing employers and to attract new businesses firms. In a nutshell, Workforce Tulsa is striving to align all of our community assets in a way that allows the Tulsa area to capitalize on its strengths. If you share our vision of creating economic prosperity for our region though developing synergistic relationships; if you believe that working together, we can build a strong, economically viable community that allows us and our children to have good jobs; then please contact us today!
