Executive Committee

The TAWIB is a large Board consisting of many members that meets every other month. One of the primary roles of the Executive Committee then is to “fine tune” the details of proposals brought to the Executive from other TAWIB sub-committees. The Executive Committee works to ensure that many of the details or finances, process and procedures are clearly defined prior to a proposal reaching the larger Board. The Executive Committee generally reviews the major issues facing the organization, weighing pros and cons and making decisions, to be ratified by the board as a whole at the full board meeting. However, the Executive Committee is empowered to make policy decisions necessary during the interim period between Board meetings. Any such decisions made shall be brought before the Board at its next meeting for ratification. The Executive Committee serves as a sounding board and recommending body of the TAWIB. The Executive Committee also carries-out other functions that may be assigned to it by the Board and/or the Chair of the TAWIB
